AKAI CR-83D 8-Track Player / Recorder For Repair, Parts or Restoration
This is a
1975-1980vintage stereo 8-track player
/ recorder from Akai
in Very Good Cosmetic Condition with
Aluminum Face Plate.
Tested:
Inserted Cassette, powers on, makes loud whirling noises at first that eventually diminish while
meter needles respond and light up
. Rear RCA outputs while connected to a receiver as well as the head phone jack both produce the same sound (working).
Inspected:
Pulled the wooden cover off (photos) and found that what appears as
the main drive belt was deteriorated from age
and removed the gummy pieces and noted that the main drive
brass pulley was spinning
at its high RPM’s(working).
Note
: no off/on switch. An 8 track cartridge needs to be inserted to power on? Unit Wt.11.5 lbs. Shipping Wt. bout 14 lbs.
Serial # 10218-0001. Will include
2 - 8 Track Tapes and RCA Cable. Will be packed right!
