his listing is for a Beechler alto saxophone mouthpiece. It is the model commonly known as the "Bellite" although the model name does not actually appear on the mouthpiece.
This is an older one, with the tip opening number stamped on the table. It also has a more "U" shaped window, and thinner rails than the newer ones. This one comes in the most desirable tip opening option. The #7 opening measures .090". This mouthpiece has "U.S.A." hand etched on the side. I'm guessing that is because it was originally sold outside of the United States (I bought it from a player in Brazil).
This mouthpiece is in very good condition. The facing is perfectly smooth. There is a minor tooth indentation on the bite plate which you may want to have filled with epoxy and smoothed. It has been cleaned/sanitized, so it is ready to play!
Vintage Beechler Bellite mouthpieces have become very popular in certain circles as of late. They are particularly sought after by practitioners of the smooth jazz idiom as two of its biggest stars, Dave Koz and Eric Marienthal, use this very model. This one is a fantastic player in that vein. It is powerful, with a bright and pure tone that is very flexible.
