This listing is for a older Beechler alto saxophone mouthpiece. It is marked "STUDENT" on it, which I've never seen before on a Beechler. I assume it was marketed as an entry level jazz mouthpiece. I'm not sure of the age of this one, but its relatively old I think. There is no tip opening indicated. Being a student level mouthpiece, it probably only came in one opening. I have it measured at .072". That is about average for a 'jazz' style mouthpiece. For reference, it is just a hair bigger than a Selmer C**, or a Meyer 5. This piece has undercut inner side walls and a nice roll over baffle, both of which give it a nice bit of punch to the tone. It's not a paint peeler by any means, but it is focused, with a semi bright tone. I would liken it to a Meyer NY, USA.
This mouthpiece is in overall good condition. The tip table, and rails are perfectly smooth. The horizontal mill marks are clearly visible all the way up to the tip rail, so it hasn't been refaced. There are some tooth gouges on the beak though. They aren't super deep, but they are prominent enough that you'll probably want to do something to mitigate them such as filling with epoxy and smoothing, or at least to use a thick cushion over the top. The mouthpiece is also quite discolored. I'm not really sure what caused that...I assume some reaction with the material, maybe from cleaning??? I should point out here that I'm not sure what it is made of either...it doesn't appear to be hard rubber, but nor does it look like plastic, as plastic doesn't usually discolor. Maybe it is a rubber/plastic mixture. The mouthpiece has been cleaned/sanitized.
I'm open to reasonable offers on this one due to the tooth marks and cosmetic condition.
Please feel free to email me with any questions.
Thanks again for looking!

Note to international buyers:
Due to the current global- pandemic, international shipments via USPS mail are experiencing significant delays. This is due to lack of available transportation (ie. mail is normally carried overseas as cargo on commercial passenger flights, however the flight schedules have been slashed). European buyers have experienced wait times of up to 2 months for shipments to arrive. If this potential wait presents a problem for you, please refrain from purchasing at this time. I sincerely apologize for this, unfortunately unavoidable, inconvenience.
