Buescher Dotted Oval Soprano Saxophone Mouthpiece with a Joe Giardullo Reface.
Original piece comes form the 1920's/30's, the reface was done during the last year.
Tip is now at 0.0495 with a medium long facing.
The piece is in excellent with a barely a mark - though to be thorough, there are a couple on the sides.  There is one ligature mark on top.
The business side of the piece is in excellent shape, no nicks or blemishes that would affect response or tone.  There are a couple of half-nicks on the bottom of the window which were present prior to the reface - they do not affect anything negatively.
This piece plays with a present and lively sound.  You get the warmth from the large chamber, but I would not call this piece that dark.  It is so well balanced with regard to tonal spectrum, much better than other custom large chamber mouthpieces I have played.
It can take a good amount of air without breaking up or becoming harsh.  Flexibility is great, no slowness due to the large chamber.
Joe's work cannot be beat on soprano.  His is the most nuanced and detailed soprano mouthpiece work I can find on this planet.  Even if you don't buy this mouthpiece, get Joe to make you one for your soprano - you will not regret it.
