Description
Buescher Tru-Lay Tenor Saxophone Mouthpiece in hard rubber.Table is marked “Tru-Lay” and below that, “67 / 1062” and “LO”.
The numbers are the tip opening and lay length respectively in thousandths of an inch, so, .067” and 1.062”.
“LO” stands for “Long Open”, and yes Buescher thought .067” was open for a tenor mouthpiece of this type. The Tru-Lay line were old-school mouthpieces.
This might be the rarest facing in the Tru-Lay line; mostly you see them for alto, and when for tenor usually in a “medium” facing.
Tip and side rails are clean, as is the rest of the mouthpiece. The chamber is large. Really large, with scooped out side-walls. I included several pics trying to show the size of the chamber, you could crawl in there and hibernate.
This could have been made any time between the mid 1930s to the later 1950s. Cap and ligature are included, but I don’t know if they are original.
No returns.
