T
his listing is for a "Sinta" alto saxophone mouthpiece, made from a Zinner blank, and finished by Richard Hawkins. The namesake of this mouthpiece, Donald Sinta, is one of the most well known of classical saxophonists, having had a long and illustrious career as professor of saxophone at the University of Michigan Ann Arbor.
The design of this mouthpiece is said to have been based upon Sinta's own modified Selmer short shank Soloist. This piece is stamped "ZINNER HAND CRAFTED" on the side. It also has the initials "RH" (Richard Hawkins) etched on the side. Hawkins' name might not be as familiar to saxophonists, but he is highly respected as a clarinet mouthpiece maker. Clearly he has done some cross over work on sax mouthpieces, although pretty much exclusively in the realm of classical pieces. From what I gather, Hawkins marketed and personally hand finished this line of Sinta mouthpieces. I don't think they are still being sold though.
This mouthpiece is in excellent condition. The facing is perfectly smooth. There are no tooth indentations on the beak. This mouthpiece has been cleaned/sanitized, so it is ready to play!
Please feel free to email me with any questions.
Thanks again for looking!

Note to international buyers:
Due to the current global pandemic, international shipments via USPS mail are experiencing significant delays. This is due to lack of available transportation (ie. mail is normally carried overseas as cargo on commercial passenger flights, however the flight schedules have been slashed). European buyers have experienced wait times of up to 2 months for shipments to arrive. If this potential wait presents a problem for you, please refrain from purchasing at this time. I sincerely apologize for this, unfortunately unavoidable, inconvenience.
