his listing is for an E. Rousseau mouthpiece for tenor saxophone. Designed by the preeminent classical saxophonist Eugene Rousseau, this line of mouthpieces combines quality with affordability for budding players and pros alike.
This is the "Studio Jazz" model. This mouthpiece
is made of hard rubber, not plastic.
It has an "A" shaped arch top chamber and flat inner walls.
This one comes in the SJ6 facing. The tip opening measures right on spec at .105".
Please note that Rousseau mouthpieces use a slightly different scale of tip openings than many other brands. Otto Link's scale is the most common, and this SJ6 is the equivalent of an otto Link 7*. This is probably the most desired tip opening tenor saxophonists playing in the jazz style.
This mouthpiece is in excellent used condition.
The tip, table, and rails are perfectly smooth, and original. There are no tooth indentations on the beak. The rubber shows very mild fading, and minimal scratching. It has been cleaned/sanitized.
