This Lawton is in near perfect condition, I purchased it just a few weeks ago - I played one like it 40 years ago and it was fantastic but too expensive for a college kid…..I wish I had the chops I had then and the $$ I have now…..it plays great but doesn’t “do it” for me now like it did then, so someone else should give it a go.
A very flexible piece, it plays with most reed strengths and cuts to provide a huge flexible sound; this model and size used by legendary greats Houston Person amongst others. It’s very even top to bottom with the right reed, and can blow bright or dark, it responds well to a good players’ demands. Includes the original lig and cap, I found it played better for me with a Silverstein ligature….
