New York Meyer Bros Metal Clarinet Mouthpiece original facing w/ lig.
Here it is. One of the rarest mouthpieces of all time. The one metal mouthpiece for clarinet to rule them all.
I've made two videos about this mouthpiece. If you haven't seen them, search on YouTube for "metal Meyer clarinet mouthpiece."
I've had dozens message me interested in buying. Well now is your chance—I'm finally selling. If anybody has played another of these, please message me. I'm amazed at how well this plays even for an orchestral clarinet player. I need to use very light reeds, but the detriments of light reeds on clarinet don't apply to this mouthpiece. The facing is truly magical, as is the baffle and chamber (round sidewalls!)
I would compare this very much to the best New York Meyers and Meyer Bros I've played for alto sax. I do think they are the most impeccably finished mouthpieces of all time. Ironically none of the rubber New York Meyer Bros for clarinet have played well for me, and I've tried many. This is a completely different animal.
This is an exquisite shape, all original facing, around .050" for you sax players. This can be heard in any big band, it can cut and soar above, but it can also be extremely mellow. I'm really partial to 00+ Henri Chedeville mouthpieces for Bb clarinet, and I have to admit this is an artistic creation of equivalent level, just in a different context.
Also pictured is a barrel by Lohff & Pfeiffer with metal tenons. I can include that if you'd like. I also think this would go great with a really great metal clarinet, such as a Selmer Master model a la Hamelin, or a Haynes or a nice Conn metal.
