Saxquest 'The Tram' C-Melody Sax Mouthpiece .090" Facing
"The Tram" is now in the NEW line of Saxquest mouthpieces. If you or anyone you know has ever played a C-Melody sax a common problem is always a lack of a good mouthpiece. Our goal in making this piece was to combine all of the qualities of the great vintage Meyer alto pieces and Otto Link tenor pieces.
The interior of
"The Tram"
features a large chamber with a wide open throat. It has rounded inner side walls with a steady floor slope and just the slightest bit of a baffle roll below the tip rail. The configuration of the Tram is designed to give the saxophonist a great free blowing response to air while maintaining total control and a fabulous sound.
This mouthpiece is made from ultra-premium solid German bar stock hard rubber. Its turned on a CNC controlled high precision lathe and then milled on an absolute state of the art 5-axis vertical mill. Shaping of the throat, baffle & tip rail; profiling of the chamber; under-cutting of the side walls, and cutting of the window is all accomplished using three strokes per pass. This results in fabulously tight tolerances which leads to incredible consistency from piece to piece.
