his listing is for a vintage Berg Larsen metal (stainless steel) tenor saxophone mouthpiece from the 1960's. It has the duckbill profile, bullet chamber, and denim mill marks on the table. This one comes in a rare 130 2 M configuration, with the "M" offset far to the right. The "M" indicates the medium facing curve, which is actually the longer of the two options Berg offers. The 2 is the baffle number (on a scale of 0/brightest to 3/darkest).
The 130 of course is meant to indicate the tip opening. Like most vintage Bergs, this one actually measures smaller that what is indicated. The actual tip opening on this one is .120".
This mouthpiece is in very good used condition. It has never been dropped or damaged. The shank is round. The tip, table, and rails are smooth, and original. There is no oxidation on the table. The bite plate is not original. It is a replacement made of black acrylic. It sits flush with the rest of the beak, and is free of tooth indentations. This piece has been cleaned/sanitized.
