his listing is for a vintage Brilhart metal (stainless steel) mouthpiece for tenor saxophone. It is the model known as the Level Air, although they are not actually marked as such on the mouthpiece. This was the first popular high baffle mouthpiece to come on the market. These were very popular with funk and fusion players in the 1970's. I know Sanborn used one on alto before switching to a Dukoff, and I think Brecker also used one for a while.
This is a second generation version of this model. It has the date stamp 102483 on the shank, indicating it was made on October 24th 1983. It has denim mill marks on the table. The tip opening is 6 and measures .092".
This mouthpiece is in excellent condition. It has not been damaged or worked on. There are no dings or gouges to the tip, table, or rails. There is no oxidation on the table. The shank is perfectly round. There is some minor scratching, but no indentations, on the bite plate. This mouthpiece has been cleaned/sanitized.
This mouthpiece comes with the ligature shown. I'm not 100% sure that it is original to the mouthpiece, but it is at least of a similar style to the original, and it fits it well. There are a couple minor kinks in the side bands, but it is still quite useable. The screws function properly.
