his listing is for a vintage Brilhart mouthpiece for alto saxophone. It is a Carlsbad, CA era Brilhart, with the serial number 107827 on the side in small font. This is an Ebolin version of the "Special" model. The Special was designed for students, although it is still a very good quality mouthpiece. It was made in only one facing, that which was considered ideal for the design of the piece, and for its target demographic.
Unfortunately this mouthpiece has had an amateur refacing job that certainly did not improve it. I'm barely able to get a sound out of it in its current state. It has been opened to a very wide tip opening (.090") and the rails are very wide. I don't think that it is beyond repair, but it would need to be corrected by someone who actually knows what they are doing. Aside from that, there is some minor tooth wear on the beak, but no serious gouging. No cracks in the shank either.
