Vintage Buescher Hard Rubber Mouthpiece for C-Melody Sax - 0.061in/1.49mm
This is a vintage hard rubber C Melody mouthpiece by Buescher with a tip opening of 0.061in/1.49mm. This piece is the mouthpiece that arrived with a Buescher C-Melody saxophone around the 50's, even though the engraving is missing the shape of the shank is true to all Buescher mouthpieces of this era. The chamber is round with concave side walls giving this piece a warm tone and the flat baffle gives it a dark sonic quality.
Physically this piece is in fair condition, showing only slight oxidation across the body exposed outside of the ligature. The beak only shows light scrapes but no indentations from teeth. The table is flat, but there is a small blemish on the left rail, this doesn't affect the playability of the mouthpiece though. The rail tip is in good condition as well. The sole engraving marking this piece for a "C" saxophone exists on the exterior near the shank.
Players looking for a dark vintage tone would enjoy this piece, as it fits the bill and is easy to play from its small tip opening, medium-hard reeds work best with this set up, the piece ships as is with no ligature or mouthpiece cap.
