*Today I am going to be listing many soprano sax mouthpieces (plus a few alto, tenor, and clarinet) that have been worked on by Brian Powell. Brian is one of the best mouthpiece refacers in the business, and his services are in high demand. You can be sure that these mouthpiece have been adjusted to optimal performance. These are far superior to the average 'off the shelf' pro level mouthpiece.
This listing is for a vintage (Buffet) Evette & Schaeffer alto saxophone mouthpiece. I would guess that this mouthpiece dates to the 1960's or 70's. It has flat inner walls and an "A" shaped arch top chamber. It is made of hard rubber, not plastic. The tip opening is .075", which Brian etched on the side, along with his initials. For reference, that is roughly equal to a Meyer #6.
This mouthpiece is in excellent used condition. It has just come back from being worked on by Brian, so the facing (tip, table, and rails) is flawless. There is just a hint of tooth wear on the beak, but nothing that would require repair. If you use a mouthpiece cushion over the top you will never notice it. The rubber is still black and shiny. There is some ligature scratching on the logo area. It has been cleaned/sanitized.
