his listing is for a vintage Selmer (Paris) "Air Flow" mouthpiece for tenor saxophone. This is the type of mouthpiece that came with the 'Super Balanced Action' model horns in the late 1940's. It is the more desirable small (round) chamber version.
This mouthpiece is marked "Table C*", however it has been opened up a bit. The tip opening measures .080" on the dot. That is just a hair larger than Selmer's "D" tip opening. I have no idea who did the refacing as it is not marked on the piece. It is good quality work though. The side rails have been thinned by tapering the exterior, and the baffle was adjusted to compensate for the larger opening. These are signs of a refacer who knows what they are doing. More importantly, it plays great! It speaks easily with a spread tone that is dark, but not in a bland way.
This mouthpiece is in very good used condition. The tip, table, and rails are perfectly smooth.  There are no tooth indentations on the beak. The rubber is a bit discolored from age, but that is purely cosmetic in nature.
    I
t has been cleaned/sanitized, so it is ready to use.
This mouthpiece comes with its original Selmer Cap and ligature. The Air Flow model is a bit fatter than other Selmer mouthpieces, and this ligature fits it like a glove. The screws are original and work properly. The ligature has not been bent out of shape, and there are no stress cracks. The lacquer is mostly intact, but is scratched and scuffed as seen in the pictures. The cap is in similar condition.
