This listing is for a vintage Steve Broadus "Perfected Model" alto saxophone mouthpiece. Broadus is, in my opinion, a very underrated and often overlooked maker in the realm of vintage mouthpieces. Broadus mouthpieces are made of excellent quality hard rubber, which rivals that of the uber expensive Vintage Meyer and Otto Link pieces. The one downside is that they usually come in small tip openings, as it the case here. This one is marked S3, with the actual tip opening measuring in at just .055". They can be opened up to great effect though. This piece has a nicely sculpted roll over baffle, deeply scooped inner side walls, and a large round chamber.
This mouthpiece is in excellent used condition. The facing (tip, table, and rails) is flawless, and original. There is no tooth wear on the beak. The rubber shows normal discoloration/fading. It has been cleaned/sanitized.
