Latest Harris vs. Trump poll: Who is leading in this critical battleground state?

Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump are locked in a tight race in the swing state of Michigan—a must-win state for Harris to retain the so-called Blue Wall.
The new Emerson College Polling/RealClearWorld survey of Michigan found that Trump has a narrow 1-point lead over Harris. The poll found 49 percent of Michigan voters support Trump, 48 percent back Harris, 2 percent are undecided and 1 percent is voting for a third-party.
The results are largely unchanged since the poll was taken earlier this month, when both candidates were tied at 49 percent of support each. However, Harris’s support is down from when the poll was taken in September and August, when she had 2-point and 3-point leads, respectively.
Although Trump has a 1-point edge over Harris, voters are slightly more likely to say Harris is going to win the election. Fifty percent of respondents said she will win while 49 percent expect Trump to win.
Spencer Kimball, executive director of Emerson College Polling, noted that union members are supporting Harris in the swing state.
“With one week until Election Day, the race remains a toss-up,” Kimball said in the press release. “The survey finds the important voting block of Michigan union household voters breaking for Harris, 55% to 41%, while non-union household members break for Trump, 52% to 46%.”
The poll was conducted Oct. 25-27 among 1,000 likely voters and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.
The poll comes as national polls show a close race between Harris and Trump.
A recent CNN poll, conducted by SSRS and released Friday, found that Harris and Trump are tied at 47 percent of support each among likely voters. The poll’s findings echo a poll from The New York Times/Siena College that also dropped Friday, which found that each candidate received 48 percent of support among likely voters.
A separate national poll from ABC News/Ipsos, released Sunday, showed Harris with a 4-point lead over Trump.
